Whistle while you work

In which Pooh gets a new job, goes visiting and celebrates the United States of America's 227th birthday. (Whewww, not too bad for a week.)

It is the 4th of July and I am home trying to unfreak Bill's dog, Akira. I am watching him for a few days. He hates fireworks and is completely spazzed out, poor little guy.

I just returned from a fab Birthday party/4th celebration. mopsa threw a big wingding for her partner, whom I had not met till today.... YAY!!!!!

I had a blast. They had a fun and eclectic mix of people including my friends Irish-Girl and Jeremy, to lazily talk the afternoon away, and enough food to feed an army. (Including something called hummingbird cake. Now I had no idea why they would call it that until I had a chunk, and realized it had enough sugar in it to cause my heart to beat it's wings at about 9500 BPM.....Woo!!!)

Also, there were enough kids running around with water ballons and squirt guns, to really make you think about just how much you wanted to go back for seconds, seeing as this would require crossing the "water militarized zone" to get to the food tables. I'm not sure, but at one point I saw Jeremy go down under a barrage of water cannons and he just might have been KIA.

In short it was a perfect day.

In other news..I started a killer new job on Wednesday last week.
I have been an independent contractor and freelancer all of my working life....till I got this job. So far it has been terrific. Even after only 7 days of work, I can tell it is going to take a little different mind set and some getting used to, but overall I am pumped.

I'd write more right now, but I have to go. There are rockets red glare and bombs busting in mid air, and the dog is freaking out....

Hey--we didn't talk about your killer new job when you were here. I was buzzing around like a bizzy-bizzy fly. But I wanna hear all about it. Thanks for coming! We were so glad to see you!
