The tulips on the south side of the house finally broke out of their slumber and have joined the lilacs in beautifying my yard.
Posted by jeremy on 04:49 PMIt was a great night: a soft, creeping fog... a bright full moon overhead... cool refreshing darkness... the picture doesn't do it justice.
Posted by jeremy on 11:45 PMA beautiful rainbow appeared over the grain elevators early Saturday evening. This isn't a spectacular shot, in my opinion, but rainbows are fleeting and I caught this one to share (ok, did that sound cheesy or what?)
Posted by jeremy on 07:37 PMA simply beautiful day capped with a beautiful sunset.
I really am liking how the Sony P71 saturates colors. I mean, look at those yellow and reds and oranges. Wow. Yet it doesn't blow them out of whack. Just right almost every single time.
Amazing what a few warm days will do to the plant life around my house - grass is growing, leaves have appeared out of nowhere and the lilacs have started to bloom.
Posted by jeremy on 10:16 PMFinally some nicer weather and the ability to sit out on the patio in back of Grumpy's downtown. A gorgeous spring night.
Posted by jeremy on 09:19 AMAll the trees and flowers are in full bloom in Woodstock, NY. Fragrant and beautiful. This one is having a private moment with a bee.
Posted by jeremy on 09:02 AMWe ate lunch at the Mountain Gate restaurant in Woodstock, NY on Saturday. I love samosas.

Crossing the Hudson River at night heading towards Poughkeepsie, NY.
Posted by jeremy on 10:44 PMA hippie-ish fellow was ambling around the town of Woodstock, NY, with this crazy homemade rickshaw. For a ten-spot you could ride around on hippie-power (he hooked himself into the harness) and listen to his goofy pan-pipe music he'd tootle out while hauling you through the streets. Looked like fun but we didn't try it.
Posted by jeremy on 04:46 PMFlying over the heartland on the way out to New York state. I believe this is the farmlands of eastern Wisconsin.
Posted by jeremy on 08:56 AMAt the Spring Dance Party the other night I toured part of the rest of the building and discovered a "butterfly ranch" in one of the upper offices. Here they raise numerous butterflies for release into the wild or for release at events like weddings, etc. Quite interesting. They allow a person to go into the environment and interact with the fluttery creatures. Neat. You might even get to feed them (Gatorade).
Posted by jeremy on 11:37 PMThis is the view of the St. Anthony Falls area in downtown Minneapolis. I am standing on the Hennepin Avenue Bridge looking towards the East and this picture is actually a composite of three separate photos. Click the image to see a larger version of it in a pop-up window!
Posted by jeremy on 10:27 AMDocumented proof of the, uh, squirrely (sorry) techniques used by squirrels to get to the tasty morsels in the bird feeders. I had to be very stealthy and take the photo through the blinds of my window. Oh, and this picture is from a few weeks ago -- the snow has actually melted as of a few days back.
