Antique toys in a store in Spirit Lake, Iowa. I recall playing with Crazy Ikes and Pick Up Sticks and Cooties at my great aunt Blanche's house when I was a small child. I loved those toys. They were old then, I knew, so I was always very careful and I always had fun.
May I ask what camera you use/recommend? Your photos are lovely.
I found your website looking for pictures of Crazy Ikes, of all things. I wonder how much they were charging for them at that thrift store, you can't get Crazy Ikes anywhere. I showed this photo to my brother who said he hadn't thought of them in years and "now I can't get them out of my mind". (We, too, spent happy hours on the floor with Crazy Ikes, Tinker Toys, pickup sticks, Cootie, etc.)
Oh, he also said the "bodies were fine to throw." I seem to recall sharp, stinging Crazy Ike hits to the forehead and other places.
Nice blog, and thanks for reading this.
