Politics doesn't much come up here on my site, but I am sickened and outraged. Not only in Iraq, but also at Guantanamo Bay. Call your elected officials immediately and tell them to get to the bottom of this abuse.
Two more recent flickers on the themes of "Distortion" and "Stream of Consciousness" for your viewing pleasure. Check 'em out here or over at WeeklyDV.com.
posted by jeremy at 10:10 AMOk, the guys are here at my house and installing a linen closet in our hallway for us! Yay! This house only had two closets and both were of little use. The downstairs closet was renovated by yours truly last week and it turned out pretty nice -- fully adjustable shelving and a usability increase of exactly 897% over the old version. The upstairs closet remains as it was. But now we finally get a place to put our linens and toiletries and sundry goods. Whew. One less thing (things, really) mucking up the place.
And speaking of closets (ok, this is a stretch), we went and saw the drag show at The 90's two weeks ago (my first time) and it was fun. It would have been more fun had I been feeling better, but still, a good time.
According to the New York Times, Disney has killed the distribution of Michael Moore's new movie, Farenheit 911, which traces the links between the Bush family and Saudis like Osama bin Laden.
Mr. Moore's agent, Ari Emanuel, said Michael D. Eisner, Disney's chief executive, asked him last spring to pull out of the deal with Miramax. Mr. Emanuel said Mr. Eisner expressed particular concern that it would endanger tax breaks Disney receives for its theme park, hotels and other ventures in Florida, where Mr. Bush's brother, Jeb, is governor.
"Michael Eisner asked me not to sell this movie to Harvey Weinstein; that doesn't mean I listened to him," Mr. Emanuel said. "He definitely indicated there were tax incentives he was getting for the Disney corporation and that's why he didn't want me to sell it to Miramax. He didn't want a Disney company involved."
