At no point in your day is it ever permissible to crank up the "smooth jazz" on your boombox while doing yard work.

If you write words, ditch the bloat and give NWE a try. I really like it. And today, pow!, Ranchero Software introduces a new blog editing utility called MarsEdit (which I'm using to post this), as well as a beta version of NetNewsWire 2 which appears at first use to be tres chic - subscription sharing, custom style sheets, three views to choose from, search, smart subscriptions (like smart playlists in iTunes, except for RSS!), internal tabbed browsing, syncing and more. Excellent, Smithers. Um, do I even need to mention Firefox?
posted by jeremy at 11:52 PMMy best pals Bill and Michelle had a baby boy this weekend. Thomas Logan was a little bit early but all are doing well and recovering and bonding. Congrats!!
It has been a stressful week for those two -- Bill's dad had bypass surgery last week (he's doing fine, too), they moved into a new house last week and they had a baby on top of it all. Their families are all out of state or country as well. Wow. Too much. If you know them, congratulate them and give 'em some support. We've been helping out but feel like we should be doing more.
Excellent! Netflix finally has RSS feeds on their site.

The kind of elbowing that isn't just annoying because, well, it is right in your face and waking you up, but the kind of elbowing where said elbow is grinding around in your face. At 3:00 am. On a fairly regular basis. Do you apply baling twine? Bungie cords? Heavy cinder blocks? I'm looking for solutions, people, my sleeping life depends on it. I guess I should be thankful it isn't The Knee again.

I read this story with my interest piquing higher and higher as it went along and by the end of it I was ready to fly to Europe to check it out for myself. Just amazing. Underground cinema, indeed.
posted by jeremy at 10:42 PMMeghan reached her goal this week! If you know what I mean, congratulate her. She deserves it. And if she were currently blogging, perhaps she'd tell you all about it and how happy she was and how surprised she was that I planned for it and got her the inMotion iPod speakers for her desk at work. She loves it. Ok, maybe I secretly just wanted to tell you about the iPod speakers, but seriously, she worked super hard and was very successful! I'm proud of her.
