In a blink, my beautiful and genius baby Trixie is already six months old. Wow.
I've been overly busy with work and freelance and other projects and thankfully Meghan is wonderful about filling in where I'm occupied (plus she's a great mom anyway).
Trixie can roll over with ease and is now sitting up all by herself for long periods of time. But if an object is moved up and over her head she will tilt back until she tips right over, which is amusing every single time. She also splashes like a maniac in the bathtub until it gets in her face, then she'll pause and catch her breath, and then right back at it. Water flies everywhere. Hilarious! She is eating solid foods now, mostly rice cereal and some bananas (guess which she prefers?) and loves to 'help' by grabbing the spoon and chomping on it. She likes to make sounds and 'da da da da' is a favorite this week. I'm sure that's because I'm so awesome and she loves her poppa and is not just a random noise.
Just this morning I witnessed her genius in action -- she was in her exer-saucer and I pointed out the "monkey bus" toy which is capable of playing music when pressed. She whomped it with her hand and music came out. She sat back, staring intently and when it finished playing, she whomped it again. And again. And again. Yesterday she had no idea how it made music... today she is the monkey music expert. Amazing.
