MacWorld SF
Wow. They did it all, and yet more, much more, than I expected. Which is all good 'cuz Apple needs some good PR and some high demand right now. Here's to hoping they have the supply to meet the demand.
Did you see iTunes? Apparently they bought SoundJam and it's lead programmer to create iTunes. And it is completely FREE. Pretty nice, but it still needs a bit of refinement in a few areas.
How about iDVD? Is this thing the coolest ever or what? Now you can easily make your own DVD discs on your Mac - and they'll play in any regular DVD player! Zoinks! It can make movies or even picture slideshows from your digitial images. Wow. Very very cool. (There is also a pro version for the high-end users that looks quite impressive).
The two biggest kickers of the show were 1) the built-in CD/DVD burner that allows you to use the above mentioned iDVD sotware (also available in custom configurations) and...
The Powerbook G4 Titanium! Holy moly. This thing is sleek, beautiful and powerful - and small! It is only 1" thin. Amazing, as this includes a widescreen 15.2" display, a 5 hour battery and a slot-load DVD/CD-ROM! How did they do it? How cares, it rocks! Pure titanium case, fast G4 chip, etc, etc. [drool]
