six years later

The last epidsode of Xena has just aired and it brought the storyline to a close. For the most part. Our beloved Gabrielle sails off into the sunset...
Xena is only a TV show, granted, but it's been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long long time and now the show is done. The only show I watched religiously and now... well, I'm sure it will be in syndication for decades to come so I'll still have that sweet morsel of entertainment goodness to consume on Sunday nights.
I liked the final arc of the story and I think they could've even made it continue much more than two episodes (ala the Amazon/Alti story) but I think they were ultimately wise to end it before it went bad. I always enjoyed the show -- both the campy goofy side and the serious.
I have to make mention of the kiss. Yeah, I'm sure many others will critique the show, the resolution, the kiss, the kiss, the kiss. But I thought it was a genuinely beautiful kiss, no matter what others will say. Just plain beautiful.
Thanks to everyone involved with the show over the years -- I've completely enjoyed every single minute!
