Cirque!

Cirque du Soleil ticket

Last night we (Bill, Michelle, Jack, Jennifer, Randy, Pat & Smitty) went to see "Alegria" by Cirque du Soleil and it was ... an experience! It is difficult to describe the show using plain words. You somehow need to convey the grandeur, the emotion, the amazement, the impossibility of it all. Stunning, really. Worth experiencing live and in person as any recording of it will not do it justice. I loved the live music and vocals, too. Very nice.

Having been "one of the gang", I can heartily agree with your endorsement of this ....event.
(I too am at a loss for words when trying to describe this adventure.)

From the moment we walked into the big top tent, it was clear we were in for something VERY out of the ordinary. The feel was most European. There was an old world sense to the entire production. Old style vaudeville, wrapped in the oldest traditional clowning. All bookended by an exclusively french spoken script and an Edith Piaf sounding bistro singer, accompanied by a (strolling even!) accordian led septet playing traditional french cafe stylings. The strollers then walked to the top of the sloped stage and joined a half dozen other musicians and percussionists to complete the orchestra. the playing was superb and the score was haunting and powerful. It was in a word, (and I just used 100 and THAT wasn't enough)....Spectacular Spectacular!!!!

THEN if that wasn't enough, the most amazing troupe of performers literally attacked the stage, flying darting and swooping with feats of such grace and power and artistry that I am still amazed 2 days later.

Technically, it was as flawless as it was ambitious.

It is a bit spendy, but you owe it to yourselves to get tickets any way you can and go see how glorious a REAL theater and circus experience can be.......
