My WeeklyDV Entry: Germs I worked my little butt off to accomplish the assignment in the allotted time and came up with this: Dirty Steve (the topic was 'germs'). Enjoy. Comments appreciated. I shot all the video with my Sony TRV-11 DV camcorder. I shot a high-res still shot for each freeze-frame zoom with my Sony DSC-P71 digital still camera. The germ animation (such as it is) was made by creating a texture in Photoshop 7 and then making variations of it. It is only seven frames put into a loop. I created the microscopic overlay (the green part) in another Photoshop document. Everything was composited and edited using Final Cut Pro on a Power Mac dual 1 Ghz G4 tower. Who IS that dashing young narrator, and where is his tie?...And what the hell country is he from anyway?...ROTFLMAO....Loved this film Jeremy...the germ thingy looked excellent and I thought the snapshot zooms were killer...truly destined to be a classic......"OH NO, not the refrigerator" posted by: Jack on October 23, 2002 10:49 PMGreat flick! Looked pretty close to professional to me. Wouldn't it be cool to put a bunch of these on local cable access? Maybe they already do in Mpls. but not in my burb. I have been looking longingly at digital camcorders but money is too tight right now. And now I finally know what you look like... : ) posted by: Lauri on October 24, 2002 8:22 PMThanks for the comments. It was a blast to make. Oh, and just in case anyone cares, my hair isn't usually slicked over like that. I'd like to think it is a bit less... nerdy looking... posted by: jeremy w on October 24, 2002 9:01 PM |
