The Detroit Project How do you feel about the world today? "Let's make our own commercials and get them on TV." Why not? Perhaps you agree that consuming mass amounts of gas and oil resources is a huge problem and you wish there was something you could do about it... now you can. Make a small donation to The Detroit Project and help fund two commercials that may just lift a few blinders. This recently worked with a commercial for "Buy Nothing Day" from the AdBusters group. Hey, I drive and SUV.. are you saying I'm a terrorist.. but I do have a reason to drive one.. I carry expensive AV equipment around in it and I nead the space to put it and the temperature control is better for the equipment. That is why I drive and SUV.. I wish I dind't have to drive it for work. posted by: bill on January 9, 2003 9:46 PMthere was an interesting story about this on mpr today: the guy that steve inskeep interviews has some interesting stats about the psychographics of SUV drivers. seems like the stereotypes are fairly accurate (except for bill). posted by: meghan on January 12, 2003 11:33 PMThanks Meghan for sticking up for me..I really wish I didn't have to drive an SUV.... posted by: Bill on January 13, 2003 5:45 PMSo, if a Ford Explorer supports terrorism because it has bad gas mileage, does that mean my GMC 1500 pickup supports entire training camps because of its gas mileage? And, suppose I did get rid of it. How would I transport tools and equipment without the eight foot bed or tow without the horsepower and 4x4? A Honda Accord certainly gets better gas mileage, but that would never pull a 20 foot flatbed trailer. posted by: Paul on February 11, 2003 2:31 AM |
