iTrip Also after my medical appointment I was conveniently located next to an Apple Store and swung in to see if they had the Griffin iTrip iPod Transmitter. Every time I've called in the past few weeks they've said, sorry, we just sold all the units we had in stock. Argh. Yesterday was not that day. This little (and it is very little) doodad completely kicks ass! Find a nice open spot in the middle of the dial and start kicking out the jams. Get one if you have an iPod. posted by jeremy at 11:13 AM
Should have come to cupertino - we've had 'em in the company store downstairs.. ;) posted by: Pete on June 13, 2003 2:42 PMor be lucky enough to have an Aux input on your car stereo. posted by: bill on June 13, 2003 4:40 PMhow is the volume? I got the transmitter that is a cradle that also charges the battery, but it isn't NEARLY loud enough, by the time I turn the iPod up all the way and crank up the stereo in the car to a comfortable volume, the hiss and other noise is intolerable. posted by: Andy Reilly on June 17, 2003 12:06 AMI used it a lot this past weekend and the volume is great, the performance is great, the clarity is very very good (better than those dang cassette adapters) and it just works and stays out of the way. I can actually only turn the volume of the iPod up to about half-way to three-quarters with the iTrip or I get some distortion (at full iPod volume). So far, I love love love this thing. I showed all the guys at work and I think I sold 3 or 4 iPods because of the iTrip. Range is about 30 feet -- at work, surrounded by tons of computers. posted by: jeremy on June 17, 2003 10:11 AMthe only thing negative i can say about it (and jeremy claims it only happens in MY car) is that there is sometimes a high-pitched ring in the background. you know, that pitch that only dogs would be able to hear if it was like one notch higher. but otherwise it's totally groovy, and if you're a nerd like someone i know, you can hide it in your pocket and try to convince your girlfriend that there's a new radio station on the dial. posted by: irish-girl on June 17, 2003 10:52 AMI am not sure what you are saying. You claim to hear a high pitch. Then you claim it is so high that only dogs can hear it... Perhaps it is best than that in this instance I do not adhere to the logic discipline of syllogism..... ;-) posted by: jack on June 17, 2003 12:49 PMOr... Is that a radio in your pocket or are you just trying to impress me??....err wait...... Jeremy says it is really little...that doesn't work.. Oh wait, I know. Ok remember, you provoked me. NO OTHER HUMAN HEARS THIS NOISE!!!! Let us revisit our friend Suzy Syllogism You hear this sound. Also.....I made absolutely zero representations about your lineage (Or pedigree). I simply made an observation. Moreover, I do believe my love and loyalty has been duly displayed and should not be questioned. Remember, I stated quite emphatically,(and publicly) I think people are complimenting the wrong sister when everyone gushes about how hot Nora is when you post pictures of her on your blog. posted by: jack on June 17, 2003 6:22 PMDon't make me Google - is it like the iRock? A wireless FM transmitter? I didn't really care for the sound quality of the iRock. Damn - I gotta get on the stick. I'm like the friggin Apple Queen (I have 8 sitting in my garage.. including the original MacPlus, I'm going to open a Mac Museum) and yet no iPod, though the new ones are tempting... very tempting. posted by: MJ on June 18, 2003 9:46 PMmj - you're slipping, girl. the link is in the post. better than the irock. wait, try this: follow the swinging watch... you are getting sleepy... you must go to an apple store... you must order yourself an ipod... you must enjoy music... posted by: jeremy on June 19, 2003 8:39 AMwe proudly embrace our dorkiness. join us, mopsa. become one of us. but wait until Monday when the (rumored) new G5 PowerMac will be available! posted by: jeremy on June 19, 2003 9:25 AMI am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod I am not a pod ........... errr...wait!! errr...wait!
