WeeklyDV: Soundtrack The new WeeklyDV capsule is now online - check out all the submissions! The theme was "soundtrack" and required all participants to use the same piece of music for their movie. I think it was a tough piece of music to work with due to its melancholy/reflective nature and I have an idea for another short piece based on this music (when I have some free time). My flicker is called "Soundtrack to Autumn" and took about 5 hours total to complete (shoot, edit, compress, upload, etc). If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear it but would prefer if you posted the comments on the weeklydv site (and encourage others to do the same). well, i think that redheaded lady in the leaves is cuuute! posted by: irish-girl on October 30, 2003 3:05 PMSimply wonderful, Jeremy. Using fall as the backdrop, you've created a beautiful and tragic metaphor for aging. It was both fascinating and heartbreaking to watch the adult female angrily writhe and thrash the leaves at the younger, prettier star of the film. Each tightly clenched handful of leaves was a fistful of bitterness and sorrow, scattered to the heavens then falling back down like tears. You did an admirable job of capturing the raw aggression and tension in every movement the older actress makes at having to play second fiddle to the blond child, at the loss of time and the passing of her youth, and the painful knowledge that winter's frost is coming soon. posted by: Jugdish on October 30, 2003 4:44 PMSome great moments with Bella. They grow up fast huh? Loved the concept and feel. Onscreen talent was pretty good too....who was that redhead? ;-) |
