X Day

Sure enough, round about midnight, as predicted, Apple released their new operating system - Mac OS X. I've already downloaded the X versions of iTunes, iMovie, OmniWeb and more and I might just go buy OS X first thing in the morning. I have the fortune of being only 5 blocks from an Apple dealer! Whoo-hoo. The new OS really looks solid and nice and I can't wait to use all that unix-y goodness with all the new features and the Mac usability. This thing will be good. The only slight catch here is that I recently put in a Sonnet G4 chip in my beige G3 and this config isn't "officially supported" by Apple. Sonnet says they'll be able to make work in short order and the basics will work right now, so I think I'll get it. It is too cool, too long needed. Apple will kick butt with all this new stuff...
